New Diaper Changing Spot!

For the past week whenever I tell Johnny that it's time to change his diaper he insists on me changing him standing up on his little chair.

Now Jacob wants the camera too!

I love my sweet boys!

Boys Night In!

Last night while I was at the Children's Ministry training (from 6-9) John and the boys had a boys night in. They decided to paint!

I guess after I left Johnny was really upset so John took him into our bedroom to calm him down. Johnny started pointing at the half painted wall and when John asked him if he wanted to paint Johnny said "Mmmhmmm". Johnny then went into the garage and started to bring in the painting supplies - rollers, brushes, and trays. So now we have another wall painted in our bedroom. Yea! Now what can I tell Johnny to do next time I go out..........

Where I Blog!

I have been tagged by Monica to show you where I blog:

The computer on the right is mine and John's is on the left. Isn't it clean? John did a great job cleaning this up on Wednesday.

Now I want to tag Barbara.

Pray for Me!

As some of you know I have stepped down from my nursery coordinator position and will start teaching the toddler/2s during 1st service - starting tomorrow. I'm nervous. I've never taught before. I have my curriculum, and I'm prepared for most of it. Where I feel unprepared is worship. I got the CD last night that goes with the curriculum and it's not going to work for worship. In fact I don't think it's going to work at all even during the teaching. So I'm feeling a little discouraged. Also, I'm worried about this whole room change and if it's going to work out or be chaotic. I should be receiving another CD tomorrow that we can use for worship, but of course I won't know that hand motions. It'll be a huge play-it-by ear today. So here's my prayer request:

Please pray that I will put my trust in God that he will give me the wisdom to know what to say and do tomorrow in class. Pray for patience on my part and the knowledge that nothing is perfect and that is okay. Pray that our toddler/2s will be blessed and enjoy the new teaching.

Thank You!

Sandbox

When we went to visit my sister, Johnny had tons of fun playing in their sandbox. John has been getting into woodworking lately so he decided to build the boys their own sandbox. Johnny helped by screwing in the bolts. As you can see both boys love their sandbox. Mommy doesn't like the sand in the diapers, but oh well.

Date Night

Our 3rd anniversary was on May 14th, so John and I went out on Saturday night to celebrate. My parents were out of town last weekend for my niece's birthday so that's why we were a little late. It is so fun to be able to go out just with my husband. I love my kids, but sometimes you need a break.

We got to eat sushi at Ah-So in Arrowhead. It was so yummy! It's been awhile since I've had good sushi. They also have teppanyaki tables there. We'll have to try that next time. Then we saw the new Chronicles of Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. It was really good. I was surprised at the number of young kids in the theater. It only has a PG rating and the fight scenes aren't bloody, but even I jumped a few times. Dove has it rated 12+.

When we went to pick up the boys from Grammy and Grandpa's Jacob was asleep and Johnny had Grammy on the floor doing puzzles. Johnny and Jacob always have the best time over there and my parents are so willing to watch them. We'll have to have another date night soon!

Muddy Johnny

I've been lazy in updating my blog so these pictures are a couple of weeks old, but they are so cute I had to share them. Johnny has discovered mud!

Thank you God for boys!

Getting my House in Order

I have decided to copy Barbara and create a new blog to record my efforts in getting my house in order. I will continue to keep this blog to show off my family. :) Hopefully as I get my house in order I will have more time to post all of the cute things that my boys are doing.

Trouble #2

For one of my first posts I put up a bunch of pictures of Johnny getting into things he shouldn't. Well I just found one of Jacob:

This must have been before I decided that the only "safe" time to do dishes is when he is secure in his highchair.

Kissing Owies

For about the last month or so every time Johnny gets an owie I have to kiss it. Well this morning Jacob hurt his finger and Johnny came up to him and kissed it. So sweet! Then he petted his head like "it's okay Jacob". It's so nice to see that versus pushing Jacob down. :)

Move over Starbucks...Hello McDonald's?

Okay if you are a Starbuck's "snob" stop reading now. If like me you enjoy a foo foo coffee drink that is more sweet than bitter then please read on. I have recently discovered the Caramel Iced Premium Coffee from McDonald's. From the taste, I can't guarantee that there's all that much "coffee" in it, but I did feel a little caffeine kick. Or was that a sugar high? Anyways they are only $1.85 for 21 oz. Also, unless someone can correct me, the closest Starbuck's drive-thru is up at Grand and Reems, whereas McDonald's is right around the corner (for me anyways at Litchfield and Waddell). I can't imagine parking the car and taking my boys into Starbuck's. I would probably wind up having to buy the ceramic mugs they knock over or having to clean up the glass on the bakery case where they would smush up their little faces. Then I would have to buy them something super sugary and gooey and there goes nap time. :)

Barney

Before Johnny was born I told my mom and sister that there would be no Barney in our house. The show just annoyed me. When my nephew, Nick, was born when I was 18 and still living at home. My mom watched him while my sister worked so I spent a lot of time with the little guy. He was a very fussy baby and the only thing that seemed to calm him down was either walking around carrying him on his stomach or Barney. We all went up to Washington for two weeks when Nick was about 9 months old. My sister brought along two Barney videos and we watched them over and over and over and over. Hence, the annoyance of Barney. Well I realized today that my favorite sound during the day is the Barney theme song at noon. Not because the kids really watch it or because I've learned to like the show, but because it means that it is almost nap time. Ah, naptime! The best time of day. :) So Barney, I guess you are allowed into my house. :)

Lunch at Grammy's House

The boys love to eat spaghetti - Grammy and I just don't like to clean it up!

Noodles on the forehead is the new fashion statement.

Mmm mmm - that was yummy!
