Jacob’s 3rd Birthday

DSC01723 Jacob turned 3 last Saturday – March 20th.  Here he and Puppy are wearing their party hats.  I should have known when we went to the party store to pick out his decoration that he would choose animals.  We went down the aisle with Dora, Spiderman, fire trucks, etc, and he just stopped and stared at the animals.

DSC01724 Big brother Johnny had to pose with his puppy “Zoe” too.

DSC01726 We let him open one of his presents at breakfast.  This is a really neat ice cream cone set from Melissa and Doug.  It comes with 2 scoops, 2 cones, and four scoops of ice cream.  Up to two ice cream scoops will stick to the cone with internal magnets.  Even the box it came in is pretty sturdy.

DSC01727 My sister and I recently signed up for Skype.  It was great to use on his birthday especially since Grammy was up in Vegas too.

DSC01729 Johnny like the set too.

DSC01731 Saturday was the first day of T-Ball Skills.  This was Johnny’s second time and Jacob’s first.  Johnny did much better this time with running.  Jacob made me hold his hand and run with him.  We all need to work on our throwing and catching.  I can’t wait to see them hit next week.

DSC01734 The Dodgers played the Rangers at Surprise stadium.  This was the first game either boy has been too.  They were so funny when we walked into the stadium looking all around.  Johnny was especially interested in the big lights.  We only sat in our seats for a total of about three innings, but they had fun.

DSC01735 I think this is the Dodgers warming up.

DSC01739 We got mango flavored sno cones on one of our walks around the stadium.

DSC01741On another of our walks, we rode on the free carousel.  The last couple of times they’ve seen carousels we haven’t been able to ride because Myanna has been with us and there’s no way that I can make sure they don’t fall of the horses, keep my balance, and hold her.  They also played around these statues for a long time.
We stayed until the end of the game.  The Dodgers won 5-4, I think.  It was around 4 when we got home and both boys fell asleep on the big couch until 6:30.  Luckily all I had planned for dinner was ordering pizza and eating tiger cake.

DSC01744Time to open presents!

DSC01749Big brother Johnny got to help.  We increased our movie collection from 2 to 6.  One of the movies he got was Oliver which he calls Aristocat and the Dog.

DSC01750Yummy pizza and salad.
DSC01751Tiger Cake!  I was ready to ice the cake and Jacob got up on a chair to help me.  When I turned back around he had dumped about half the bottle of green food coloring into the orange icing.  Johnny said “I think God made green tigers too, Mommy.”  Of course I couldn’t leave it at that so I went back out to buy more icing and finished it up around midnight.  It was worth it though when Jacob got his slow grin on his face when he saw his tiger cake the next morning.  I asked him later what his favorite part of his birthday was and he said “tiger cake”.  Johnny said “eating the tiger’s ears.”

DSC01754 We skyped in my sister and family to sing “Happy Birthday Jacob!”

DSC01768Yummy ears!  They were eating the cake like tigers would.

DSC01764 "This is pretty good."
 DSC01774A long, but fun birthday.
I love you Jakey!  My big three-year-old.  :)

I’m a Winner!

DSC01646

Sometimes I get into these kicks where I go around entering tons of giveaways on blogs. It gets kind of addicting, especially when there seems to be an endless amount of giveaway blogs all linked together. You go on this little trail, and hours later all you have to show for your time is a bunch of new blog subscriptions in your reader and email box. Several times I’ve gone and deleted out all those subscriptions, except for one – My Four Monkeys. I don’t know the lady who runs this blog personally, but there’s just something about her. She’s always honest, nice, and never has any weird or adult giveaways. So when I finally won something I’m glad it was from her site. I won the General Mills Retro Week Prize pack which included full size boxes of Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, and Lucky Charms all in neat retro packaging. I was extra excited that the Cheerios box was bigger than the rest. I also received a Honey Nut Cheerios T-Shirt and $10 gift card (woo-hoo).

Here are the boys enjoying Lucky Charms for the first time:
