Johnny's "Schooling"

We haven't started any formal "school" for Johnny yet and I realized today how much he has picked up just from reading and playing. I thought I'd share that his favorite shape is an octagon. He makes me draw them on his Magna Doodle. Go ahead try drawing octagons over and over again - it's not that easy. :) I have started to label some things that we have duplicates of with a Y for Jacob (his nickname is Yo-Yo) and a J for Johnny in order to try and prevent fights. So tonight Johnny points to the Y on the back of Jacob's potty and says "Big Y". I asked him what it stood for and he said "Yo-Yo". He couldn't tell me the name of the letter J on the back of his potty, but he could tell me that it stood for Johnny. I started thinking back and I believe the first color he said was blue. For awhile everything was blue. Now he can tell me the color of almost anything I hold up. As far as numbers he still counts "One, Two, Pee, Sebin, Nine", but we'll work on that later. :)

First Sponge Bath

We'll have to use the pretty pink towels and washcloths that Tracy sent for her first water bath.

We Might be Going Home Today! :)

The doctor just came in and said that Myanna is doing really well. She's been eating good and gaining weight. So they will take her off the warmer today and if she is able to keep up her temperature then we will get to take her home tonight. I can't wait!

John is going to bring Jacob up here for lunch today. I can't take him to the McDonald's that I took Johnny to yesterday, because the play equipment is just too big for him. So I plan on just taking him to Subway for lunch (Mommy needs some fresh veggies) and then back to the hospital. He can't go into Myanna's room due to RSV season, but I'm having John bring some books so I can get some cuddle time in the waiting room. John says that he seems sad without his Mommy and brother and new sister. :(

Please pray that Myanna keeps up her temperature and that she can go home today!

Out to Lunch

My mom brought Johnny up to the hospital and I got to take him out to lunch at McDonald's. He was extremely quiet, almost shy around me. :( I feel bad for the little guy - he doesn't understand what's going on. I hope that I can get out for a little bit tomorrow. It's just hard because I have to feed her every 3 hours which means that if she eats well I only have about 2 hours between feeding times.

Gaining Weight

I just realized that this will probably be the only time in Myanna's life where gaining weight is seen as a good thing. :) The doctor stopped by about an hour ago and he was happy to see that she has been feeding better and gaining weight. She must not like the feeding tube because she pulled it out early this morning. :) The plan for to today is to continue to breast feed every 3 hours and keep her on the warmer. She only had to have one tube feeding during the night. If she can go today and tonight without any more tube feedings then they will take her off the warmer tomorrow and see if she can maintain her temperature on her own. So we are looking at probably 1-2 more days in the hospital.

Please pray for:

Myanna to continue to eat well and gain weight. For her to be able to maintain her body temperature once she is off the warmer.

Me to get the rest that I need.

Johnny and Jacob to be happy and not upset that they are seperated from us.

Our finances. We were late in getting out the bill to our largest customer this month due to Myanna's birth and they have not paid yet. Pray that they will pay soon.
